GD Sam & The Ugly Cowboys write music for the modern person. That is to say, the modern person who prefers their drinks strong and their morals loose. The Ugly Cowboys are inspired by a number of genres, falling into punkabilly/red dirt punk/dirt-bag country.
The songs? Unapologetically hilarious. The tunes? Annoyingly catchy. The lyrics? Pearl-clutching-ly outrageous. First time listeners are known to blush, laugh, and then chant along to instant classics such as "Sex While High," "Douchebag from the Bar," and "Budlight & Bong Rips".
Lead singer Sam "GD Sam" Miess has been a gigging musician since 2012. While playing with The Cuz, GD Sam composed three award-winning albums. GD Sam has entertained hundreds of audiences from patrons in bars and breweries to adoring crowds at festivals such as Milwaukee's Summer Fest and Chicago's Navy Pier. GD Sam has shared the stage with bands such as Smashmouth, Kansas, The Styx, and Sister Hazel.
Drummer Jade Liston is an international man of mystery, Some think he may be Mothman. Most do not. In any case, he's the heart beat of the band. Really, what is a band without its rhythm section? I'll tell you what. Two idiots swinging their guitars around like they own the place. Stay humble.
Bassist Bee is a classically trained pianist of ten years. Though, you would be forgiven if you thought otherwise due to their slapping abilities on the bass. The Ugly Cowboys met Bee when they emerged from a moshpit and asked the Boys riddles three to recruit the best bassist in the world. Well, they f*cked up and got stuck with this gremlin instead.
